President Bush Throws Out First Pitch To Open Nationals New Ball Park
President George W. Bush threw out the first pitch tonight at the Washington Nationals new ball park in Washington, DC. G-Dubs brought the high heat and didn't bounce it in to home like a little sissy -- very Republican of him! Bush later joined Joe Morgan and Jon Miller in the booth for an inning and a half of brilliant baseball analysis.
The Nationals open up their season tonight against the Atlanta Braves before heading down to Philly tomorrow to take on our Phillies. The crowd in Washington tonight seemed to have had a little Philly in them, booing our nation's leader quite a bit.
Update: It was quite the ending for the Nats.

GW is better in the booth than Joe Morgan.

Jon Miller's ass-kissing knows no bounds.

Bush as we all know is a great guy but horrible president. It's the reason the geeks are on student council and not the quarterback of the football team. Excited to watch games in that stadium though, can't wait for Shea to go down next.

You wipe a little crisco or vagisil on that pitch you get another two to three inches drop on your curve ball.

And so the campaign to become Commissioner of Major League Baseball continues....

I don't care if he is lame-duck or not, find something better to do with your time, please.

Kulp,
I'm not the least bit a fan of GW's, but come on. This is the one game you have to expect to see him at. I thought he was alright in the booth. Better than Joe Morgan at least.

Hey, did anyone get an audio recording of GW's play by play. Would love to hear it.
Thanks.

Enrico,
I expect him to throw out the first pitch, but in the booth? He makes as much sense as the celebrity of the minute in the MNF booth. Pointless, uninteresting, and distracting. (It's also worth noting that he had skipped the '07 and '06 openers.)
