Andre Miller Drops 18 Assists in Blowout Over Bulls
The Eastern Conference is taking notice of the Sixers, who are actually looking like a team that might cause some trouble in a first-round series in the playoffs. The Bulls are the latest victim, getting bombed out by the Sixers, 121-99, in South Philly. Andre Young Miller messed around and damn near had a triple-double, with 18 assists, 8 boards, and 9 points. Andre Iguodala put up 21 points and 9 dimes, and the Sixers jumped up a half game (and one seeding) in the standings. Michael Barkann tells us that since February 5, they're an astonishing 19-5, and if they can stay anywhere near this hot, some higher seed will have its hands full come playoff time. At only 3 games out of fourth in the conference, if they get hotter, they could end up the higher seed in that matchup.

why do the sixers get no respect from the national media. yea the east is not near the west, but the sixers have beaten some quality opposition in this run. Where's the respect?

Patience my young padawan chris, it will come...it will come.
I hope that they just continue to learn and execute at this level. Is it me, or does Miller's 18 assists make you think of the assist numbers Boston put up...the ball movement is improving more and more.
Thaddeus is a sponge when it comes to learning. I don't even think we've seen him get emotional and exert it on the court. Iggy can really show him how to throw it down in some fools face.

Every time I see Iguodala throw it down, I get pissed about the disrespect he was shown at the all-star dunk contest a few years back. He won that sh*t, hands down, but they gave it away only because someone 6' could actually dunk. It took him over a dozen tries to do one dunk, and instead of dragging him off the court in shame, they make him the winner?
I haven't watched the dunk contest since.

It was Ice Cube who fucked around and had a triple double, not Dr. Dre.

Dre Day, Good Day...

There's your national media respect.

I'm sorry, but is it in our best interests to have to play Lebron and the Cavs in a playoff series?

It definitely is in our interests to play the Cavs. But it's in nobody's interests to play LeBron.

@Chris: Don't know if you listen to Bill Simmons' podcasts, but he and Marc Stein were definitely giving the Sixers some love as the podcast was right on the heels of when the Sixers beat the Celtics in Boston.

I rather see the Cavs (even with superman) than Orlando. The Sixers can throw a bunch of young, athletic kids at LBJ. They do not match up quite so well against D-Ho and company. Either way, I'm pretty happy to have relevant basketball back in the city...... side question, can we re-hire Billy the King as director of scouting?

This from Deadspin:
"You know that training montage scene in the original Rocky movie where Rocky's beating up big hunks of meat, and chasing after live chickens, and running around the city with a bunch of people inexplicably following him, and Bill Conti is singing "Getting strong nooooow....gonna fly noooooow," and you suddenly realize that Rocky has become some sort of unstoppable fighing machine who could punch holes through granite walls and live on a diet composed of broken glass and rusty nails? Well, that's the feeling I'm starting to get from the Philadelphia 76ers. I know that sounds like a grand overstatement, especially since the team is only 37-35. But they've gone 11-2 so far this month, with wins over the Celtics (in Boston), Nuggets, Spurs, Pistons (in Detroit), and Suns (in Phoenix)."
I couldn't agree with this more. Just looking at that last sentence and the names of teams that the Sixers have ousted lately is incredible. Do I think they're poised for a run to the finals? Probably not, but I love watching this team play. I find myself growing antsy for the next game right after I see another final score and another W. Playoff basketball in Philly...welcome back!
