Phils Nab Kris Benson

Todd Zolecki is reporting the Phillies have signed Kris Benson, pending physical.  I think it's a nice low risk, high reward type move.  What do you think?  For a closer look at the... deal, go here.

Maybe on a day before Santana pitches against the Phillies, we can send Anna Benson over to his house or hotel room. I've been waiting for this move for a long time and I love it. Benson has experience and will be a solid option in the minors if we need him. I'm glad this finally happened. I was beginning to wonder whether it would or not.

per the inquirer this morning it is unlikely Benson will pitch much at Allentown; instead he will prob stay in Florida working on strength and getting in shape, and make a few rehab starts, then either be on the 25 man roster or be released by a certain point in the season
