Phils #1 in ESPN.com Power Rankings
Er... Make that ESPN.com Page 2's Power Rankings. We're not sure what their formula is, because they don't mention it. The Royals and Marlins both come in ahead of the Red Sox, so we're pretty sure this has nothing to do with potential to win a pennant and much to do with stirring things up in the tabloidblogosphere. Their lone defining characteristic for the Phillies in their description is the signing of Kris and Anna to a minor league contract. But hey, Phillies #1, Mets #2. We'll take it.

As much as I love the idea of the Phils being #1 in power rankings, this is obviously a joke. The formula appears to be which teams had the most interesting off-season stories that have the least to do with their actual impact on the diamond.
