Mound in '14!
"Every time I hear the word conservative it makes me sick to my stomach because really they're just fake Christians as I call them."
Sir Charles is on fire in this clip with CNN's Wolf Blitzer. The Round Mound of Rebound goes on a bit of a tirade and promises he will run for governor of Alabama in 2014. Now when will he run, you ask? 2014.

Those were actually some pretty dumb comments from Chuck. I agree with him as long as he meant SOCIAL conservatives. There are FISCAL conservatives and LAW AND ORDER conservatives too that don't necessarily agree with the bible beaters. But he needs to clarify his statements.
Regardless, he won't stand a chance in hell of winning over a state like Alabama with comments like that.

According to the Mayan calendar, the world ends in 2012 so he needs to bump that date up a few years.

Barkley's really getting a lot of face time lately.

Where have you gone, Charles Barkley? A nation turns its lonely eyes to you.
All-time favorite player in any sport, ever. All-time best commentator in any sport, ever. Even if you don't agree with him, at least he's not another milquetoast douche drooling out the side of his mouth, afraid of stepping on anyone's toes.

I love Charles, but this was pretty tasteless. Being a Christian, I must say that I took great offense to it (though I will always love Barkley and view him as the best thing to leave Philly). I don't think it's hypocritical at all for Christians to feel that abortion is murder and that gay marriage is wrong. For us to stand by our convictions is not us "not forgiving". I don't hate gays or people who chose abortion, I just don't believe those activities are right.
I'll give him credit, there is a string of Christians who love their "Conservative" label more than they love God. Maybe the holistic generalization wasn't good. Maybe even... not politically correct?
Anyone seeing this man winning as a Democrat in the Republican Bible belt?

I don't think he's saying that holding those opinions is wrong (even if he, like I, disagrees with them), I think he's talking about the hypocritical nature of people whose religion's basic principal is forgiveness and loving putting forth vitriolic rhetoric that is anything but loving or forgiving, and the hypocrisy of a party that claims to be for governmental non-intrusion trying to legislate morality on people's personal lives.
Barkley was very much a republican, probably because he doesn't believe in governmental micromanagement. The present administration has turned a huge portion of its base off for specifically the reasons outlined - they actually believe in governmental nonintrusion and find the present state of affairs to be, to say the least, unpalatable.
Or, as he says, "I was a republican until they lost their minds."
