Mike Patterson Likes Driving... On Weeeed...
We're hearing reports that Eagles DT Mike Patterson was arrested after marijuana was found in his car Saturday in New Jersey. Update:
Police said they found a vehicle on the side of the road with damage caused by a minor motor vehicle accident around 6 a.m. They said they smelled burning marijuana coming from inside and found Patterson and the marijuana inside. They said Patterson admitted it was his.
Also inside the car was Patterson's 28-year-old brother, Tyrone, who had several outstanding warrants for his arrest, police said. Police said he resisted arrest.
No word on whether they were listening to Creedence when they crashed.

And Patterson, just like Buckhalter blazing in the SUV on South Street his rookie year, should be forgiven. It was a stupid mistake and Patterson's first run in with the law. Smoking pot isn't the worst thing in the world.
"You see, I think drugs have done some good things for us. I really do. And if you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor. Go home tonight. Take all your albums, all your tapes and all your CDs and burn them. 'Cause you know what, the musicians that made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years … rrreal fucking high on drugs."

Zero issue with athletes toking weed, but please be smarter about it. Go to your well appointed home (or "crib" if you prefer) and smoke at home and watch old 80s sitcoms, like 95% of the weed smoking world.

Can't we get over the fact that weed is no worse (probably less harmful overall) than the booze we all love? I don't smoke (have inhaled - Bill wasn't there) and it's ridiculous that it's not legal, especially medically when it helps blind people and cancer patients. What does that say about how f'ed up and cruel the law-makers are? This country is in the dark ages.
And oh BTW, Patterson...you're an IDIOT!
Stay the f*** home and toke BEFORE you get in the car!!!!!!!! AND, have someone drive you!
Bush/Cheney blow. Good riddance.
Peace.

Make weed legal? Right. Caust impared judgment is someting we should openly embrace.

Jonn, I couldn't have said it better myself.
(unless you weren't serious...and my spelling would've been better because I'm not high (I don't smoke anymore))

Jonn,
How is the impaired judgement of alcohol any different than the impaired judgement of marijuana? Pot, like most things, when used in moderation and used responsibly is no worse than booze.

Danny G,
Because you won't get in a fist fight when you're high on weed.
Sincerely,

In other related Eagles news, it has been reported by ESPN that Zach Thomas has reached an agreement on a contract with the Cowboys. That's one pretty big signing by a division rival already. The Eagles better make a splash real quick in free agency or I'll be kind of disappointed. I know that building a team isn't all about free agency, but it does help.

So maybe Patterson should start hanging out with Britt and Garrett Reid?

For those of us who think marijuana use should be legal (DISCLAIMER: When used in moderation by *responsible* adults), incidents like the one Patterson was just in sets the cause back thirty years. Thanks, dumb-ass!
