Eli Manning & The New York Giants Win the Super Bowl
A boring first three quarters turned into a rather thrilling final few minutes. Eli Manning has led the New York Giants over the previously undefeated New Enlgand Patriots to win the Super Bowl.
New York.
Mad props must be given to former Eagles coach Steve Spagnuolo for putting together an impressive Giants defense.

Honestly, can someone just run over that troll Belichick and save us all? The Media killed Isiah and the Bad Boys for not being gracious in defeat vs. Chicago. I'm sure they won't "Kill Bill" for his pathetic display of poor sportsmanship.

I'm going to throw up.

I give major props to Steve Spagnuolo and what he did tonight. I am right back to hating the Giants tomorrow, but right now I am experiencing incomparable joy due to the fact that the Patriots lost.
The most telling of it all...Bill Belichick shakes hands before the true end of the game and walks up the tunnel without any of his players/staff. My opinion of him has decreased even more. He did a nice job with his team this season, but that was classless and pouty. What a bitch.

Happy the Patriots lost.
Moderately satisfied the Giants won. Their defense was nearly perfect. And, as a PSU alum, even I yelled when Jay Alford rocked Brady's world.
Bring on Spring Training!

Don't worry folks, were the GOLD STANDARD for the NFL. Jeff Lurie says so. And after this offseason of drafting 8 guys who will NEVER see the field and signing a stud free agent Defensive End who will never even come close to living up to his ridiculous contract we'll prove it!
Oh and our receivers are good enough too.

I didn't think New England would let them kill their winning streak, BUT THEY DID.

Yech. What a tough week. Mets get Santana. Giants win the Super Bowl. Eli goes from dude to stud in six short weeks. The only thing I'm happy about is that it was an entertaining Super Bowl, Tom Petty can still rock and it's only a few more weeks till pitchers and catchers report, which means spring can't be far behing.

Spagnuolo is probably going to coach the Redskins next year now. What an amazing job! They didn't even have much of a secondary.
GM Jerry Reese is really turning the Giants around. I thought they were headed for the cellar with Tiki retiring, that Coughlin had spoiled the team. I was following that draft closely and he got guys who could contribute - Ross at CB, then WR Steve Smith in the second round, special teamer Zac DiOssi, the TE Bosse, Jay Alfred, and incredibly Ahmad Bradshaw in the seventh round.
The Eagles drafted for the future with Kolb and Abiamiri, content with Will James, the WRs, the return game, Considine.. but not to belabor the point now..
When they beat the Eagles in Philly, I thought 'are these guys really that good?' They play strong football on the line and minimize mistakes in other aspects of the game.

missed the post-game, was Eli voted MVP?

Eli did win MVP. He probably got it when he did that D-Mac impression. I thought I counted seven hands touching Manning when he escaped and heaved it up to Tyree.

I'm a die-hard eagles fan, I know it stings a little more now that a team that was on paper a lot worse than the 04 eagles that went up against a slightly better patriots squad than the eagles did won the superbowl, but I have to give credit where credit is do. I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who is a giants fan and congratulated him on his team's upset. I really hope that this is a big wake up call to eagles management that all the other teams in the NFC East have three or more superbowl championships now and the eagles still have no superbowl championships. I hope this tells them that we better surround McNabb with better talent not just on the offensive end of the ball but the defensive side of the ball as well. I also hope this is a wakeup call to Andy Reid on how to properly manage the clock at the end of a big game and I also hope this tells him that starting some of your rookies isn't a bad idea, hell the giants have started a bunch of their rookies, and where has that got them to? Exactly a superbowl championship. So wake up Eagles management and Andy Reid the division is passing us by.

I still cannot believe that Eli Manning won a Super Bowl. I'm stunned, actually. If you told me that Eli would win one before Donovan McNabb, I'd have laughed at you. Thank God for beer.
Hey Andy: We're waiting. Really. The Giants won with a field full of rookies. Our rookies get red-shirted like they earned the last scholarship at Penn State. Any time you're ready to start actually caring about winning more than your stupid system would be great.

I am not going to rant. I am sitting here and I am numb. I can't believe how much this is bothering me. It is not like the Giants just won the game, or New York won a Championship. It is just in the dramatic, story book ending they did so. How do you ever top something like this? How do you ever get a bragging right over someone from NY when they can say, "we had th greatest win of all time" and they sit there and and point out how pathetic and winless Philadelphia is. They can mention all the fights at the Vet, the tipping over of porta potties with cowboy fans in them, and say what a bunch of beheamoths we are. They ended a streak and had one of the greatest victories of all time.
I guess because I live so close to to the mason dixon line of NY that this bothers me more than a typical Philly fan. Many of my friends are NY fans. I just cannot feel good for them. I grew up with Norwood's near miss FG. Sat in bars watching the 94 Rangers, the 96-2000 Yankees and all of their miracle moments. We can't win one title game, and they win many and in doing so have the most gratifiying and satisfying hearalded victories of all time that I have to hear about. And I am still waiting. It does not seem fair.
Did El Wingador win wing bowl?.................Did not think so.
