In my opinion the dunk contest is dead. It was not exciting to watch at all. And the announcers were even worse. From putting down a shoeless between the leg dunk to acting like everything Howard did was the most excitng thing ever made even worse. You wanna see exciting basketball watch And1. But I knew the dunk contest was over when they proclaimed this years contest to be the best ever! I'm not even gonna bother to keep that as a flip-back station next year.zzzz zzzz zzzz

I personally thought that this was the best dunk contest in awhile. Gerald Green didn't impress me with his shoeless dunk either, but Dwight Howard looked amazing last night and the quality of his dunks was much better than years past.
You have to remember, how many possible dunks can be done? A simple windmill won't get it done anymore because it's become almost a standard. These guys are taking it to another level by simply adding in little pieces of creativity to the basic dunks. I was impressed and hope next year is good too.

In my opinion, I still think Iggy got robbed by that midget.

This uber-Superman geek awards 10 points for the concept alone.

david stern and the nba clearly had a hand in this years gimmick dunk contest, as they wanted to boosts ratings and excitement. and as for howard, yea the superman "dunk" was impressive but that wasent even a real dunk! it was just kind of a super layup, no pun intended. i have to admit though i was feeling gerald greens first cupcake dunk.

The cupcake dunk was awesome. Blowing out the candle as he dunked the ball was brilliant.
Howard's from-behind-the-backboard dunk was, in itself, excellent.

Anybody else watching the allstar game and getting confused with the colors of the uniforms?

This thing's not even an event until someone ups the ante and sets themselves on fire.
