Set to Enter Free Agency as Buyers, Should Sixers Also Focus on Facilities?
I was happy to hear that things are going well for Kyle Korver in Utah. He's a good guy, and it's rarely easy to quickly adjust after being traded. One thing he said to his new local press was a little concerning, however. From the Deseret Morning Times:
Now he's pumped to have a nice practice facility like the Zions Bank Basketball Center. "The place in Philly was horrible. I could stay in that thing (ZBBC) all day. I don't know anyone else here, so it's not like I've got something else to go do, anywhere else to be, so I'll be there all day."
With most of the Philly basketball talk currently focusing on the Sixers rebuilding for the future, the idea that the practice facilities aren't up to snuff is somewhat disappointing. Obviously, part of the rebuilding process will involve convincing coveted free agents to sign in Philly as opposed to other cities, and with a consistent loser on the court lately and the banners in the rafters getting older, you'd hope to have a little help in the facilities department. Looks like the Sixers will have to rely on cash money and promises of glory.

Wow, Ma Korver scored 63 and 74 points in back-to-back games. Bet she'd give the Black Mamba a run for his money.
But why does KK have to be dissing the practice facility anyway?
(uh, btw, where DO the Sixers practice?)

Yes, PCOM is a craphole.
There were talks last year between the Sixers and real estate developer Eric Blumenfeld to build a new facility on North Broad Street between Green and Mt. Vernon on what used to be the Wilkie Car dealership, but that never went anywhere at the time. Maybe it just got put on the back burner until they could turn the team and organization around and start getting asses in seats.

Truthfully, do other NBA teams practice in places like this? Why DON'T the Sixers have a real practice facility?

does the Zions Bank Basketball Center have a "make you better at defending the dribble" machine?
peace out Ashton, enjoy your time in UTAH.
i'll trade PCOM for some nightlife any day of the week.
