Can Any Self Respecting Eagles Fan Root for the Giants on Sunday?
I pose the question over at FanHouse whether Eagles fans can, in their right mind, cheer for the Giants on Sunday. I say no. What say you?

Being up here at your alma mater Enrico, I just can't stomach the thought of these jerkoffs celebrating another ho-hum championship, even if this one results in their team possibly going undefeated and being labelled as the best team ever. I was at Foxborough when they beat the iggles in nov, and no one cared then either really compared to the die-hard birds fans. It's a shame they only care about the Sox up here. But outside of birds fans in NE next Sunday, I see no reason why anyone should be rooting for the Giants.

Go Pats.

Hell no.
End of story

Any other year? Absolutely not.
But come on people: this is the Giants, not the Cowboys and TO. Whereas I could never bring myself to root for Dallas, there are a few carefully delineated situations in which I could root for the G Men. This is one of those.
This Patriots team is possibly the most hateable team ever... come on, Enrico, you should know from being up here how absolutely horrible these fans are. If the roles were reversed, I'd like to think that most Giants fans would be pulling for the Birds on Sunday.

I vote yes for the Giants to beat the Pats. Here is why.
The Pats need to go down, Brady's ankle needs to get snapped in half...we all know this. If I have to listen to Terry Bradshaw one more time talk about how Brady is the greatest of all time, I'm gonna puke. IF the Giants can gain a little more respect in the NFL with a superbowl win, the Birds credit goes way up next year when we sweep the giants in the 2008 regular season.

I think i am going to have to root for the Giants this year. It is tough, but I think I will have to this year. I just hate the Patriots and how smug they are.
At least this is not the Steelers vs. the Cowboys. I could never pick a team in that one.

Root for the Giants? No. Not now. Not ever.
The Giants are a natural enemy. That's like being a mongoose and rooting for the snake when the snake is battling some lizard, who, while annoying, doesn't really threaten you.

I agree with the poster at FanHouse that said, "it's not who you root for, it's who you root against." With that spirit in mind, I plan on rooting against the Pats. I want them to lose so badly.

I go to school up in Northern Jersey, 95% Giants fan. I had to suffer two weeks(the losses) of these douches shoving it in my face. OSI! PLAX! GTFO. Fake fans are coming out of the closet everywhere. I saw kids wearing Sehorn and Collins jerseys. Dude, Sehorn. I would rather kick a dog then root for the Giants. (I love animals, would never do that)

Better the D-bags we do know than the ones we don't. If they taste victory, every Giants fan is going to be an insufferable tool. I'm used to Patriots "fans" being insufferable tools. So I'll stick with the tools I'm used to. Don't agree? Just picture a guy in a Strahan jersey at the Linc next year yelling Superbowl Champs. See what I mean?

I was really torn on this for the first few days of last week before I realized that there is no excuse to root for the Giants in this game. I work with insufferable Boston fans who make me want to punch them in the face every 9 seconds...Celtics, this, Pats that, Sawx this...it annoys me, and I want the Pats to lose. On the other hand, I wouldn't be able to stand hearing "Defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants" all of next season. I would also die a little inside if Eli Manning won a ring before Donnie Mac. So, NO, it is not okay to root for the Giants in this game.

I will be rooting for the Giants Sunday. The Pats are despicable, Brady needs someone to break his pretty little face. This Giants team has managed to win a very little bit of respect from me for winning three games on the road, and for making TO cry. That will make this a little easier to swallow. If, God forbid, this was Cowboys-Pats, I honestly might just kill myself

The team we're "supposed" to hate plays the team we really should hate for legitimate reasons.
The Patriots cost us a Super Bowl in a game where they were cheating (in more ways than one). I despise the Patriots and they are my least favorite team in Sports. So yes, Eagles fans should root against the Yankees err I mean Patriots.

Hell no, I can't root for the Giants to win. However, I want the Pats to lose. My brother and I were at the Vet for the last game of the '98 season, where they needed to lose to the Giants to get the #2 overall pick (with which they got McNabb). I wanted them to lose, but I refused to cheer for the Giants. Instead we just sat and watched the game passively.

I can't bring myself to root for the Giants. Having to hear Giants fans next season talk about winning the Superbowl and beating the perfect team would be horrible. I don't like the Pats either, so I'll be rooting for a comfortable seat, the 7-layer dip, my block numbers to come up, and the commercials not to suck.

I hate this Pats team more than I've hated any other team in the history of the league, and that includes the Cowboys of the 90s. I'd love to see the "perfect" team go down in the Super Bowl, even if it is to the Giants.

Obviously it would be best if they could both lose, but in the event, I'll be rooting for the Giants due to the Pats' pure evil and spoiled bandwagon fans. However, if it were Dallas rather than the Jints, I'd go out and buy a Rodney Harrison jersey.

I just want to see some good commercials.

I live in New England, so I'm saying GO GIANTS.
Why? I don't know. The Giants didn't irk me like they do every other year, and the Patriots - ugh, if I need to see one more smug-ass New England fan (who goes on half the time about disrespect), I'll hang myself.
OK, won't do that, but you get the picture. Granted, if this were Dallas/New England, I'd root for the Pats, but the G-Men haven't really done anything this year to make me say "fuck them." Last year's Giants? With Tiki? Sure. Not this year's bunch.

If this camel ends up being right about the giants winning the super bowl, the first thing I'll do after the game is find this camel and behead it like my name is Akmed the camel fucking oil sultan. Then I'll use the head as a club to beat over the head every single cunt faced giants fan I see. That is how I feel about the giants winning the super bowl.

Is it acceptable to root for the sliding roof in Arizona to cave in on both sidelines?
This is like, "What would you prefer: peeling your skin off layer by layer, or plucking your nose hairs by entering your mouth and going up your nasal passage?"

You've got to factor in the NFC East. You don't want to have a cake division like the Pats. I live in Georgia now, and outside of rooting for Penn State, I will support any Big Ten team against any other conference, just to give the SEC homers less to crow about. Have to give the same support here...unless its the Cowboys.
And to give Tiki a reason to retire from the media.
