Duce Staley To Retire As Eagle

DuceislooseFormer Eagle fan favorite Duce Staley will be in town this week and is retiring an Eagle.  You may have thought Duuuce retired a year or so ago... I did too.

According to this party invite, somebody thinks Duce is getting his number retired.

The Duce Is Loose one last time as he is getting his #22 jersey retired at half time of the Eagles/Giants game; then that night it's a celebration of his career.

Now according to the Eagles:

At halftime, Staley will be escorted onto the field by former teammates for his retirement celebration featuring a brief ceremony and two highlight videos.

Not exactly getting your number retired.

You can party with Duce and likely a number of current Eagles at XO Lounge on Sunday evening if that is your sort of thing.

Duce will be remembered fondly for his hard nose attitude and the fun chant his name gave us.

Duce was a bright spot in an otherwise dim Eagles era, however, I don't think his performance is jersey retirement worthy. I think the current RB will eventually have that honor when all is said and done.

what did duce ever do for the Eagles that merits a ceremony? i mean he had one good game against the cowboys, but that is all i remember. Did the birds ever do a half time tribute to celebrate Cunningham's time here in philly?

Civ? Seriously?

They aren't retiring his number, just giving him a ceremony which he is certainly deserving of.

Guy wasnt a superstar, but there was a time where he was a huge part of the Eagles offense.

...and the fun chant his name gave us.

and his other nickname, Douche Daily.
