Roy Williams Gives DMac a Verbal Horse Collar

Horsesass I think we could all use a little break from Rectumgate, and with TO being uncharacteristically quiet leading up to the big showdown in South Philly, Roy Williams has picked up the shit-talking slack. In response to Donovan McNabb's comments that the NFC East Championship goes through last year's champion city, Philly, Williams had some pointed words, essentially saying that no one's afraid to play at the Linc right now.

Williams may forget that the Cowboys seemingly had the Eagles and the division on the ropes last season, only to choke as if someone grabbed them by the neck from behind, wrenching them to the ground in an unnatural fashion because they started too slow.

Reminded about the Eagles' recent dominance over Dallas -- two straight wins, five of seven and 11 of 14 -- Williams dismissed that, too.

"They are another team that's in our way of reaching our goals," he said.

One thing that hasn't changed is that a big part of the reason for the Eagles' success against Dallas has been the ability to throw into Williams' defensive backfield at will. He may have a point that it's a new season (brilliant observation, that), but he's not the one on that team to be voicing anything. He's been garbage for years, and win or lose, the DMac and the Eagles will probably pick him apart again this weekend.

I love when reporters get these things started. Commence to letting Williams have it.... now.

I tried to give up on this year's team, but I can't do it.

So I will say this: In late January a certain short stop said that the Phillies were the team to beat in the NL East. After all the nay-saying, J-Roll had the last laugh. Now, McNabb says that the Championship will come through Philly. Just like J-Roll, McNabb needs to make it happen.

I don't know if McNabb and these Eagles can do it this week, but I'd love to see them destroy Dallas.

Prediction: Dawkins will suplex T.O.

God I hope Romo has another game like he did with Buffalo. That would be even sweater than shutting down TO.

I don't really like Roy Williams.

Roy Williams is quite possibly the most overrated safety in all of football. Sure, the guy can lay a hit, but part of being a safety is dropping back in pass coverage and actually containing a receiver. Williams is terrible in coverage. I guess he makes up for this fact by using the horse collar on anyone that gets by him. Everyone, including Williams, knows that he is the reason that the league implemented the No Horse Collar rule.

Williams is a dirty player who is overhyped by too many people. He was a lethal weapon while he was at Oklahoma, but he does not warrant any praise for his play in this league. The Eagles always bring their A game against the Cowboys and I'm excited to see this game on Sunday. I couldn't care less about T.O., he will do his thing and I've come to expect that. But Roy Williams has no merit and no reason to flaunt about a team that he has not even been a major contributor to. He is average at best. I would take Quentin Mikell over Williams every time.

Roy Williams isn't really overrated anymore... everyone knows he can't cover. In fact, there was a story in Dallas papers last week about how Williams is tired of hearing he is a liability. It's pretty obvious to fans and teams alike; anyone remember when the Redskins beat the Cowboys on MNF a few seasons ago 14-13 with two fourth quarter bombs from Mark Brunell? Yeah, they did that to Roy Williams.

But he isn't average at best. Look around the NFC and only a handful of teams have a guy that's hands down better at safety. Only three by my count: Sean Taylor, Adrian Wilson, and Dawk. And for the first time since Darren Woodson retired, he has a quality safety starting aside of him which makes it even more difficult to take advantage of his weaknesses. He's a hard hitter and they use him to create turnovers.

He shouldn't have opened his mouth though. If there's one thing we have all learned about the Eagles under Andy Reid, it's that they're not finished until they are mathematically eliminated. I've criticized the coaching all season long, but with a win Monday night it's going to be hard to ignore the possibility of another late season run.

roy williams fucked the busted destiny's child broad...

"Trash talking" is just that "Trash", but with the Eagles "red zone" woes, it makes it a little easier to open your mouth.
