i was never a bonds defender, but at the same time, i wasn't a hater either. i always said that if the government had something either charge him or put this whole thing to rest. now that he has been indicted, i am more inclined to join the hater ranks, although in a court of law you are innocent until proven guilty. this case, however, will mostly be judged in the court of public opinion where bonds is already a loser.

1987 light blue fleer rookie card is still my favorite baseball card of all time

enrico comon man this is so dumb. we learn nothing new.. the government was clearly out to get him and we knew they would indict him eventually.
I see this more as a sketchy government indictment.
Also, why would they put greg anderson in jail? didn't they say that there was no way that they would be able to indict bonds if anderson doesn't cooperate? so, they put him in jail, and indict bonds anyway.

this is so stupid... all this will mean is that the media wastes countless more hours of our time by focusing on bonds.
yeah, bonds probably cheated. so did everyone else in baseball (+ other sports), but we seem to be looking away from them...

its too bad that you have fallen into the category or ignorant general public.

That's a shame....couldn't have happened to a better guy... I'm assuming the government doesn't need Anderson's testimony since they have released him from jail. They might have paperwork or even some other witnesses. I'm critical of the government as much as the next guy, but when the federal government indicts somebody, they mean business and they rarely lose. Example A: Enron Example B: Michael Vick

Charlie - Sure, we all know plenty of other players have cheated in baseball. That's painfully obvious. However, None of those other juiced players have just assaulted and broken the most hallowed record in all of sports --- the HR record. No one is "looking away" from players like Mcguire, Palmeiro, Sosa, Giambi. In my opinion, they are just as guilty as Bonds and I detest them just as much. They just haven't broken the all - time HR record.

"didn't they say that there was no way that they would be able to indict bonds if anderson doesn't cooperate?" Clearly, you're wrong here. Unless Anderson spilled the beans and gave in or they found new evidence pre - 2003 of proof or documentation that he took steroids KNOWINGLY. Sometimes, investigations turn up new evidence ... shocking, I know.

and blah, blah, blah with the media again. This is their job --- to cover news stories. Surprisingly, people out there do care about this.

I am not wrong actually.. check the indictment on thesmokinggun.com. ZERO new information since they put greg anderson in jail.

they spent 4 years trying to indict him, they would not have been able to afford not actually doing it.

from anderson's lawyer...

"It’s infuriating, when you read the indictment. Is there anything in that indictment that wasn’t known a year ago? If that is the case, clearly, putting Greg in for a year was not only punitive, but was misleading the court in that (federal prosecutors) said his testimony was indispensable for the investigation.

All of sudden, it was, ‘I hope your year was therapeutic.’

There has to be some kind of redress for this. The whole thing is a crock of shit. He’s never said word one."

I hate Barry Bonds, he's a cheater and has no place among baseball's best.

Charlie, so you get your information from thesmokinggun.com? Wow, what a reputable source, lol.

Seriously though, You need to get your facts straight, bra. On Thursday, there was enough evidence to link positive samples to Bonds. During the criminal investigation, evidence was obtained including positive tests for the presence of anabolic steroids and other performance enhancing substances for Bonds and other athletes, the indictment said.

And seriously, why do you give 2 shits about Anderson? He's a scumbag too and I hope he had 'fun in jail, covering for Bonds.
