If I Had A Nickel For Every Time... Phillies Ticket Giveaway!
Sometime yesterday, The700Level.com was viewed for the one millionth time. In all likelihood it was probably me looking at my own website for the three thousandth time this week, but a notable mark none the less.
I just wanted to say thanks to the readers and commenters. It took us quite a while to reach 1,000,000 page views, but at the rate traffic has been going lately, it will only take a fraction of that to reach our 2 millionth page view.

From our very first simple post of a game photo I took to some recent stories, we thought we'd pick a few highlights. And in the comments, if you get the urge, you could pick a post you remember fondly.
- I thought my coverage of our trip to Vegas for the NBA All Star game this year really turned out great.
- I'd like to give a special thanks to Terrell Owens. He really helped us get off the ground. This was my T.O. mega recap.
- In my humble opinion, I like to think The 700 Level had a helping hand in start the Sal Fasano craze.
- Ahh, the Eagles won the NFC Championship and all was right in the world. For a a week or so, at least.
- My love letter to Donovan before the Superbowl.
- Holy shit, sometimes I'm a moron. RE: Webber deal: "Wow. This trade makes the Sixers a whole lot better, and a big time player in the East."
- Howard Eskin digs for clams.
- Hey look! I was on SportsCenter.
- Not sure why, but this is still one of our most popular pages in Google Searches... Oh wait, they're why.
- My piece on A.I. leaving Philly.
- Matt's post on the transformation of the 300 Level.
- Or the popular Pat Burrell drink special.
You kids have any highlights over the past couple of years?
Oh, and to celebrate the occasion, I'm going to give away two free tickets to the Philadelphia Deadspin Pants Party at the Phillies game next Saturday, July 14th. All you have to do is leave a comment on this thread mentioning at least one post you've enjoyed from our archives, with your email addy in the right field and I'll put you all in a hat and pick a winner next week.
Thanks for readin', yo.

Hey i like the pat "caught looking" burrell drink special. ill like it even more if we do it, and he leaves.

I liked the "300 is the new 700" article.

Congrats to the 700 Level, this is one of the blogs I frequent every day. 1 million views is quite the accomplishment. My blog, We Should Be GM's, has only collected 69,582 in our 1.5 years of existence.

A million hits...very nice.
If only you had a way of knowing how many times people have checked their RSS feeds too...which I do habitually throughout the day, maybe you would already be at 2 mill.
I'd have to say that the Burrell Drink specials has been my favorite post in my time visiting the site, it was also nice to learn about Pat's Bed Wetting habit.
The Ryan Howard Italian Vacation series should be everyones favorite though seeing as how the trip single handedly brought Ryan from post MVP slump to back to back MVP candidate.

I agree with Ryan, I thought the Ryan Howard Italian Vacation was very good, my personal favorite.
Hey, can a phellow phlogger get in on that ticket giveaway?
Posted by: Tom G | Friday, July 06, 2007 at 10:04 AM
Absolutely Tom. Anyone who leaves a comment is eligible.. so it looks like as of now you have a 1 in 5 shot!

Nice work, Enrico.
Big fan of the Ryan Howard Italian Vacation, as well.
Keep up the great work, man.

Congrats. I have always enjoyed the coverage of the most popular backup catcher in history, Sal Fasano. He didn't even play here long, but became an instant cult classic. The fact that his fan group crossed the border speaks volumes of the street cred Philly fans have. (see Wolf Pack, Byrd's Nest (which I helped start), Padilla Flotilla, it goes on and on). Looking forward to the pants party next weekend.

I suppose it should be noted that not every sports blog features advertising by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Bonus points, there.

Congrats! I sould have to say that one of my favorite posts was a non-sports post. It was the 12/29/06 post that covered your first Phish show at the Spectrum. Ten years had past, but you gave a really nice post about your experience. It gives me chills to think about the great music that went down at the Spectrum, let alone all of the great sports memories.
That night was a special night for me too, having taken my brother to HIS first Phish show. We were home on winter break from college and he had the time of his life.
Thanks again - continued success, enrico!!!

Congrats on hitting the big number.
Also a big fan of the Ryan Howard Bobble-vacation.
But the short post from a few weeks ago "Ozzie Guillen Thinks Philadelphia is a Nice Place" made me happy to be a Phillies fan but at the same time cheesing me off because that stuff never gets mentioned nationally.
But throw one D-cell battery and suddenly we are evil.

I'm with Forbin, that was a great post. My first was the night before, definitely some great memories.
Also liked the Iverson retrospective a lot.

PS, I prefer an aisle seat.

Congrats, 700 Level!
The best single-city sports blog in the history of the intranets. Cheers.
Oh, and my favorite post was that one where you announced the 1,000,000th page visit and gave some of your favorite posts ever and then gave away free tickets to a Phillies game...
That one was frickin' AWESOME!
Good luck on continued success. Just imagine how many people would come here if Philly actually had winning teams.

I recall this Overheard at Villanova vs Pitt post from earlier this year as being pretty goddamn funny. That's what I like about The 700 Level...you don't have to live in Philly or even be a diehard fan of Philly sports to appreciate the work done here.
Here's to another million!

Congratulations on 1 meeeeeellllion views! Lobbable projectiles all around for the next Mets series at the Cit House.

Congrats! Your site helps me kill countless hours of dead time at work, keep up the good work.
My favorite post was MLS Wants Soccer in Philly (and So Do We), more for the comments that followed than the post itself. Nice seeing all the soccer fans/haters come out of the woodwork. Plus I suggested the post, so that helps(this post is tagged vanity).
Also enjoyed the recent post about Houston's stupid hill, nice linkage from ESPN(insider).

Once I figured out that this site is different than the 700 Club, I've been a loyal reader. You've had some great hits, but the consistency really stands out, too.

Congrats on the big 1 million! That's definitely a huge accomplishment. The 700 Level continues to be my favorite sports blog. I loved the Pat Burrell drink special and the Ryan Howard Italian Vacation (especially since he broke out of his slump afterwards.)
I also loved the back and forth chatter that was had by myself and another commenter during the recent NBA draft.
Keep up the great work. And congrats again!

this is a great site.
i really liked that post about the horrible call made at the recent astro's game.
it made me feel that i wasn't the only person royally pissed at the ump.

I liked when you had the guest posters for a week. I'm getting sick of you guys.
Just kidding of course fellas. Thanks for all your work in an often thankless job.
I liked the "F the Mets" post. More specifically, the dude in the picture.

Awesome--congratulations!
That Vegas All-Star Weekend recap is my personal favorite.

Congratulations and keep up the good work.

The article that stands out the most was the June 12th one covering the Flyers dancing guy. This guy was one of the few bright spots of an otherwise depressing season.
Posted by: Michael | Friday, July 06, 2007 at 02:56 PM
I liked the post about the huge sailfish that good lookin kid caught in Costa Rica.
Big Ups to the Level!!!

It's tough to pick just one but I loved the post "Philly Fans Are Not The Most Sober Bunch" where a drunk guy passes out in his car (with his foot on the gas and in park) after a Phillies game and damn near blows up the engine. Classic!
Congrats to The700Level.com!
