Adam Eaton Is The Worst Pitcher In the National League
Beerleaguer points out this wonderful stat.
Measured using Baseball Prospectus’ VORP stat, which tallies the number of runs contributed beyond what a replacement-level player at the same position would contribute if given the same chances, Eaton is the worst pitcher in the National League over 100 innings, ranked 47 out of 47 starters. He's been bottom barrel since the season began.
I have nothing witty to say in response to this. Adam Eaton, the worst!
>>Season of disappointment continues for Adam Eaton [Beerleaguer]

Ryan Howard shoulda brought Eaton to pitch to him in the Home Run Derby and told him to just pretend it's an actual game.
I hate to admit it, but I actually felt bad for that Brian Sanches fella last night. Every time he gave up a homer his cheeks turned a darker shade of red. By the time he got yanked it looked like he had a rash on his face.

No surprise- but it's still hard to read those words in black and white.
And Sanches is bye-bye- he was optioned back to AAA late last night/very early this morning.

I think Eaton will be OK. That stat includes a real rough patch at the start of the season, but he should pan out better than most pitchers signed as free agents last offseason.
What's not ok is that Manuel has 12 pitchers, including a few he doesn't use, and he just let Moyer hit with the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the fourth, down five runs, when Moyer's getting rocked. The difference between the Mets and the Phils in the standings is the difference between Randolph and Manuel.
As Manuel said "I've got 8 to 10 guys who don't know what their role is" truer words have ne'er been spoken..

O I see, he left Moyer in the game in order to spot the Dodgers nine runs, rather sporting.. plus Garcia and Myers are so lonely in the sore arm clinic he needs to stretch his starters more.

At least Eaton is still better than Padilla.

This really is no surprise, I was at a game early in the year, Jackie Robinson day in fact, where Adam Eaton just got rocked and looked like he had nothing. Even the flyouts were well struck and you just had the feeling he was a boy playing amongst men. What's surprising to me is that somehow, according to the CBS Sportsline player ratings, http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/playerrankings/regularseason/LF Pat Burrell is not the lowest rated player in all of baseball. Someone needs to refactor these equations. He can't field, he can't hit and if I see him poke his but out like a pitch is inside when it's right over the heart of the plate one more time I'm going to head but my skull directly through my television.

I think Eaton is the single greatest pitcher of our generation. He's just misunderstood

He's 47 out of 47? But there's more than 47 guys starting in the NL. So he's not really THE WORST. Only the worst out of 47. But better than 32 other starters. So is he the worst, or what?

He's just bad, how bout that.
