Thome Gets Warm Welcome
In his first at bat in Philadelphia since his departure in a trade that brought the Phillies Aaron Rowand, Jim Thome was greeted with a nice ovation with some fans even getting up out of their seats. He followed up the warm welcome with a ground out about 4 feet in front of home plate.
The Phillies have youngster Kyle Kendrick making his first major league start today. Kendrick looked alright in his first inning, giving up one run. But the RBI came on a fly to center which Shane Victorino seemed to misjudge a bit. What could have been a routine out became the go ahead run for the White Sox. Chalk that one up to Aaron Rowand getting a rest day and Shane Victorino not being used to anchoring the outfield out in center.

I'm glad Helms hit a homerun, but he still sucks and has been a huge disappointment.
