Every Day Should Be Shane Victorino Day
It's not often that a person is given the great honor of being enshrined in a tiny piece of plastic. It's even more rare to be enshrined in a piece of plastic wearing a hula skirt and playing a ukulele. But the true icing on the cake is hitting a walk off home run in the bottom of the 9th inning on the same day devoted to you. Shane Victorino, you kick ass my friend.
Sunday's game was marked as Shane Victorino Figurine Day for months and fans of the flying Hawaiian have been waiting anxiously to get their hands on the little hula man. Shane was off to a slow start, but he he came to bat in the bottom of the 9th with a chance to make his day truly special. He delivered in grand fashion. As Harry points out, "you couldn't have scripted it any better."
Watch the video of his walk off homer here.
Shane, with his lightening quick speed and insanely impressive arm, is quickly becoming a fan favorite in Philadelphia. The time it takes him to get out of the batters box and up the line at first is jaw dropping. The lone Phillies highlight on Friday evening's 13-0 ass beating was when Shane Victorino gunned out Randy Winn on an absolute cannon to home -- truly impressive arm.

Enrico, V2 is no more. we can't tailgate in that parking lot anymore. there is only one tailgatting parking lot and it is on the other side of Pattison ave. i think this is F-ing Bullshit. Just because 100 or so under age kids got caught drinking doesn't mean that they have to take it out on the almost 30 year olds. can we get some sort of petition going or something?

Provided he doesn't get traded (who else can we really move besides Rowand and possibly Nunez), I'm totally getting a Victorino jersey. The guy has the right attitude to play here and busts his ass day-in and day-out. For anyone looking to tailgate, I highly recommend the Jetro lot next to the Linc on Darien St. It's generally only $5 to get in there, and it's a private lot. Though it's a bit of a walk (not really), it is definetly one of the prime pre-game spots. Being friends with some of the guys that run it though, my only request is to clean up after yourselves to ensure that it doesn't get shut down as well...

But how do they get the helmet all wrong on the bobblehead? You gotta go with the double-ear flap, no?

I still remember when Francona gave Scott Rolen the day off on Scott Rolen T-Shirt Day.
