Boo Barry If You Want to Boo Barry
Tom G. over at Balls, Sticks, and Stuff asked a number of Giants bloggers some questions before this weekends series. I found this bit rather entertaining.
Tom G: I'm always shocked at the level of disconnect between Giants fans and the rest of the world when it comes to their views on Barry Bonds. When he comes to the plate in Philly, should we boo him or cheer him?
ELM: Cheer him, of course, but Philly fans are genetically incapable of cheering anyone.
OBM: Barry Bonds is the best hitter of all time, chasing the greatest record of all-time. ALL of baseball, all of sports should be cheering him.
ATS: Do what you want. If you do boo, think about why you are and if you might better be able to get that message across by not paying for baseball tickets. But don't boo him then boo when the Phils intentionally walk him. Or boo him then cheer when he homers.
Right. Cheer him.. OF COURSE. F that shit. San Francisco fans really are in a world of their own.

I bet the boos will be louder for the guy who catches a Barry home run and won't throw the ball back. But eff that I'd take the boos and sell that shit on eBay.

If I wind up at one of the games in this series, which seems likely, I will BOO as loudly as I've ever BOO'ed anyone. I will BOO as much as I BOO'ed the Eagles at that Jacksonville game last season.
I will BOO if they walk him, BOO if he gets a hit, and BOO if he catches a fly-ball. I will only cheer if he gets beaned in his giant mutated head.

I am a conservative, caucasion sport fan. I am tired of this man getting a bad rap on charges that have not been proven in the court of law.
What happen to " Innocent until PROVEN guilty"? It's a shame that public opinion dominates in cases like these.

It is so obvious that Barry Bonds has used PEDs it's almost laughable that anyone would question it. The only problem I have is why hasn't anyone checked out Roger Clemens?

Joe Manning, you're foolish and naive. Go ahead, continue to defend and turn a blind eye to the piece of shit, otherwise known as, Bonds.
Innocent until proven guilty? Clearly, you need to research the Bonds investigation more thoroughly. Bonds admitted he took steroids -- Accidentally. He claims Greg Anderson gave him some flax oil and Bonds used it -- it just happened to be a topical steroid cream.
In this case, public opinion is the only rational opinion. You're a tool if you really believe Bonds never used any Ped's.

Midnight, I think you read it wrong. Joe Manning was the one who said he'd BOO him...

The only thing Bonds is guilty of is being a by-product of the American Subculture. We demand excellence. We dont care about second place. "Who grows up wanting to be Vice-President?"
To put all the problems associated with LB over the years on Bonds is a joke!
Bud Selig - when baseballs ratings were slipping years ago and even begining to fall below hockey and America was losing interest in it's pastime...who's the one
who really turned a blind eye?
Was it us Giants fans? Or was it the entire sport? Giambi's, Clemen's, Canseco's, Sosa's, McGwire's, Palmero's, etc.
Ohh, and the question that always kills this arguement. When was the no substance enhancing policy put into place? And, how many times has Barry tested positive?
...Exactly.
Let's Go Giants!!!!

This just in... Barry Bonds just tested positive for being an arrogant dickhead. Boooooooo!

barry bonds represents everything thats wrong with america, not a product of it. just because 'everyone else was doing it' is not a valid excuse you tools. didn't your mom tell you this when you were a 10 year old and smoked your first cigarette with ur first wine cooler you san fran faggot

Marcus: The only thing Barry Bonds is guilty of is cheating himself and the game that made him rich. I don't think he requires you providing limp geo-political rationalizations for his actions because he doesn't give a damn about the fans (which makes watching Giants fans defend him the highest of high comedy).
Blame America, Bud Selig, and whoever else you want. The only one in that equation who took actually went through the trouble of taking steroids was Bonds. Enjoy your tainted hero and his shrivelled manhood.
