Kevin Kolb: Hog Killer
This is good news for a team who plays in the same division as those fat hogs down in D.C.
For one thing, if you can hunt wild hogs with a couple of dogs and a 12-inch bowie knife, the way Kevin Kolb and his friends have, maybe getting booed or being lambasted on talk radio won't seem like such a big deal.
"It's not just [about] killing an animal," says Kolb (pronounced Cob), taking a lunch break last week after a workout at the University of Houston. He didn't want to come off like some bloodthirsty savage to the non-hog-hunting fans of his new team, the Eagles, who shocked everyone from Allentown to Atco by taking Kolb with their first selection in the 2007 NFL draft, 36th overall. "A lot of times you've got to work before you reap your reward."
"Our dogs go and find 'em first, and then we stab the pigs. It's a little bit dangerous, but as long as you know what you're doing, you'll be all right," he says.
I certainly don't get it. But I like it.
Kolb was a star at Houston, but not many Eagles fans have actually seen his game. His outdoorsman attitude is something I think Birds fans can get behind. At least if he's pissed off at Eagles fans for booing him he won't have his mom go whine on her blog. Kevin Kolb will just go kill a pig and fry up some scrapple.

Did I see an Allentown reference? Yes, we are now on the map. If Enrico Campitelli and this fine website give mention to the future home of the AAA phightens, then we have made it. I say this draft pick was just fine. DNasty realistically has 5 more good years left, if injuries don't get him before than. So develop this young gun, keep him cheap becuase he'll rarely see the field in 3 years, and let him develop slowly. Im not drinking the cool-aid yet, but if we philly fans continue questioning Andy Reid, I will be annoyed. He has given us every reason to trust his decision making with the exception of end of game time management which he seems to have improved on. Giving up the reigns to the offense shows you how much he wants to win, not just look like the man doing it. So I will not quesiton Andy Reid until the day that he screws up majorly. It's always hard for people to see how good they have it until its gone. We have it good with Andy, and his drafting skills while non-traditional, have provided a foundation for success every year. Well done Andy! Allentown is for lovers.

I was pissed about this pick at first... but with some time to think it over, im feeling much better about this... Reid has shown through mcnabb, feeley, and garcia hes excellent at judging QB's... so i think we're looking at a pretty good QB-OL foundation for the next 10 yrs... now if only we could get the DL straight, we'd be golden

Here in parts of Texas right now, there are no limits on wild hog. There is an overabundance and they are trying to trim the populations. More get hit on the roads then killed by hunters and they destroy crops and can injure livestock. As long as you have a hunting license you can kill em all day long. Being from the Houston area I have seen Kolb play a lot. Philly got a good QB. Will he be a star? Eh, maybe, but he is definitely a solid backup. He is smart and strong, and really pretty quick on his feet. UH ran the option regularly to good effect, but he has a good arm and accuracy. UH also ran a converted west coast scheme so it might not take long for him to learn. I say good pick considering how often McNabb is hurt and they lost Garcia.

So I guess this makes Dono the Good Old Dog. I wonder how long before Kevin and Dono go on a little...hunting trip together and only Kevin comes back.
