Goodbye to the Bow Tie
After signing Takeo Spikes and elevating second-year player Chris Gocong to #1 on the depth chart at strongside linebacker, the Eagles have released Dhani Jones. The Birds also drafted Stewart Bradley to add support to the LB corps, so the chances of us seeing the air guitar in '07 were pretty slim. Bradley and Gocong were both 3rd round picks, which is about as high as the Eagles go when selecting LBs, and Spikes was one of the two biggest signings they made this offseason.
Something tells me there won't be much in the way of public outcry regarding Dhani's departure.

Did anyone see the USA Today story last week where Mr. Jones said he used two movies to pump himself up before night games? "Fearless", starring Jet Li and "An Inconvenient Truth" starring ... well, not Jet Li.
I shit you not.
Who will step up to be the Igs' philosopher king this season? Good night, sweet prince.

Nothing like global warming to get you all fired up.
I'd totally watch Glory.

Quoting the one and only Robbie Zimmerman:
You've been with the professors
And they've all liked your looks
With great lawyers you have
Discussed lepers and crooks
You've been through all of
F. Scott Fitzgerald's books
You're very well read
It's well known
But something is happening here
and you don't know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones?

I was actually doing valet at Loews downtown while attending Temple at the time he came to Philly. He was staying there while his house was being built over in Chestnut Hill. Cheap bastard drove a Range and never once tipped any of us. I've been waiting 3 years for this to happen, good riddance...

This is the best news of the off season -- never again will we have to suffer the guitar dance after a routine tackle, in the fourth quarter, down two touchdowns. Dude picked the worst times to celebrate... Totally embarrassing

Dhani never turned out to be that good, but I always liked him as a person. He stood out among a sea of cliche spouters and faux tough guys.

Sure, a seemingly nice guy, kinda wacky, wearing wigs and led zep shirts. Sounds more like a DJ at some sweaty club. Wait... DJ? DJ?!?!

What a cryin' shame....no longer will Eagles fans be able to enjoy the Dhani Jones, "I smashed my hand with a hammer" dance when he finally makes a play in the third quarter.

Good riddance to "Poindexter". Should have spent less time worrying about his signature moves for video games and spent more time trying to make plays.
