Ryan Howard's Mom Gives Him an Allowance
This is classic Ryan Howard.
Howard, profiled on HBO's "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel" in a segment to air Monday night, talks about how his financial adviser - his mother - gives him an allowance out of the money he earns.
"She handles the funds. Like, I'll get it, and then I won't see it. She'll let me look at the check, and then it's gone," Howard said.
The 27-year-old St. Louis native made $355,000 last year.
Without a doubt the best value in baseball last season. Just more proof that Ryan Howard is a down to earth kind of guy. I love it.
Most reports I've seen this off-season expect the Phillies to give Howard a raise somewhere in excess of the one million dollar area. His big payday seems to be a few years away.

I wish I'd asked Chamomom Davis to do that for me. Perhaps I might have avoided the massive pile of debt I'm deep in right now.

i have heard this before, next thing you know there is going to be a lawsuit that says his mom stole all his money, and it is going to lead to ryan being distracted on the field and then next thing you know the season is over and he batted .230 with 23 HRS and 81 RBI and 130 K's, and we then have 2 pat the bat's.

I hope this doesn't lead to the Eric Lindros zone with mommy and/or daddy handling all business affairs and ruining a talented career.
