Cole Hamels Married on New Year's Eve

Chase Utley wasn't the only Phillies player to tie the know this offseason.  Cole Hamels married former Survivor star Heidi Strobel on New Year's eve in her hometown in Missouri.  The Inquirer's Michael Klein has more on the couple.

The couple - he's 23 and she's 28 - met about 21/2 years ago at a minor-league game in Florida. Strobel, who appeared in the sixth season of the reality show Survivor, was at the ballpark that day to throw out the first pitch.

Hamels had a pitch of his own. "Cole came up to me and asked me out," Strobel says. "I had no idea he was a baseball player because he was on the [disabled list] and wasn't dressed for the game."

Heidi was also one of the Survivor ladies who appeared in Playboy.  If the next thing you were going to do is a Google search for Cole's new wife, you may want to try joining Heidi Strobel's Yahoo Group.

cougar? really? this is the second time I've heard this about them, it's a 5 year difference people, settle down. AND SHE IS ONLY 28. gah.
