One Hit After Another

I can't say I was alive during the original airing of any of these videos but after viewing them, the tune to Welcome Back, Kotter has been stuck in my head for hours.  This clip features Tim McCarver, then Phillies player who came out of retirement in order to say he played in four different decades, doing a promo for WPHL 17.  Greg Gross clearly didn't have a career in television in his future.  What kind of station's tagline is The Great Entertainer?

A quick check of Tim McCarver's wikipedia entry tells us that "he is most known for 'holding Steve Carlton's jock strap'"

Love the old Phils logo. Also love that you can almost see the Orange seats of the 600 level.

If those original Orange and Yellow seats at the Vet were for sale (unlike the short-timer blue seats that were being passed off as Vet seats), I would have bought a Vet seat or two when the Vet went down.
