Army-Navy Game, Saturday @ The Linc

The 107th gridiron match up between the United States Military Academy  and the United States Naval Academy will take place at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday.  Navy leads the series by 1 with a total of 50 wins.  There have been 7 ties.  The photo above is a picture from the fly-by from last years game.

Sports Talk 950's Jody Mac interviewed Navy color commentator John Feinstein and has made the interview available via podcast.  They talk about the history between the two service academies.  Feinstein also has an interesting solution to the current BCS garbage by having a 6 team playoff.  Pretty cool idea.

Philly is scheduled to host the game in 2008 and 2009 but we're making a bid to get the game here more frequently.  This Annapolis paper has a rather funny take on our fine mayor:

Sporting a hairstyle not dissimilar to that of Don King, the flamboyant Philadelphia mayor sounded somewhat like the famous boxing promoter when he declared the city was prepared to make an effort to keep the Army-Navy game “for all-time.”

Perfect.
