Can You Hear Me Now, Bullpen?

I'll be heading to the historic confines of Wrigley Field tonight to watch the struggling Cubs take on the Houston Astros.  Wrigley, which is usually known for its throw back style, is the first to take on a new technology: cell phones to the bullpen.  Motorola is sponsoring the deal which is using their handsets.

Unfortunately, for the hacker/fan in all of us, you won't be able to get the number of the phones.  So no crank calls to Charlie Manuel in the dugout.  Wait, do you think Charlie knows how to use a cell phone?

"It's more of a two-way phone than a regular phone," Baker said. "No one can call in and you can't call out. You can just call each other."

The first phone system at Wrigley Field was a cable from the dugout to the bullpen and was installed by a phone company during the 1950's.

Tuesday nights game was the first in which the new technology was used.
