The Orange and The Black
The Flyers are currently up 4-1 going into the third against the Rangers, looking to gain some momentum heading into the playoffs.
That brings me to the question of the new song titled The Orange and the Black by the band The Boils. According to Punknews.org:
The song "The Orange & The Black" by Philadelphia's the Boils has apparently become a recognized anthem of sorts for the band's local NHL franchise the Philadelphia Flyers. Frontman Greg Boil reportedly announced this morning on a local radio station that the song will be played after every Flyers win for the rest of the season and playoffs. Head to the band's MySpace page for picture from a recent game in which the song lyrics appeared on the Wachovia Center scoreboard.
Listen to the song here. What do you people think? It's no Dirty Water.

love it. orange crush shirts and a victory song. the wachovia center will be the place to be.

Sounds to me like a rip-off of the Dropkick Murphys' "Time to Go," an Irish-punk Bruins fight song. Still, nice to hear a song for a Philly team.

You know the Flyers are my favorite team in the history of sports, but no team will ever have a song as great as Dirty Water.

For Alex
It sounds like the Dropkicks because they were specifically told to give it a DKM feel. Not everyone realizes that 6 songs, with 6 different musical-genres were proposed to the Flyers. But they specifically chose the DKM-styled one.
