Chase Utley Helped Mac Get Fat

Share

Sadly, the tale is not as funny as the show. There's no late night eating contests at Pat's and Geno's or chicken wing gorgings at Chickie's and Pete's.

But It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney did put on 50 pounds of weight for the most recent season and he did so on a healthy recommendation by Chase Utley. From Philly.com:

"I told him that I was gaining this weight, and he said, 'Hey,
I've got this nutritionist that I work with, who makes the meals for
you, and he can do it in a healthy way.' So I called this guy up, and
he's got this company that works with a lot of professional athletes,
including offensive linemen. And offensive linemen have to gain as much
weight as they possibly can."

Boring. But at least Mac won't go dying on us any time soon.

Utley has been known to lose plenty of weight throughout the tough grind of a 162-game baseball season, so it's no surprise he knows how to bulk up in a healthy way. Chicken breasts, rice, and vegetables just don't sound very fun.

Fat Mac should make for a few good plot lines though. Trailer below.
