Hunter Pence Hits First Phillies Home Run, Has Secret Handshake

Share

Hunter Pence hit his first home run in a Phillies uniform this evening, an absolute no-doubter off of Madison Bumgarner deep into the left field seats at AT&T Park in San Francisco to put the Phillies up 1-0 early. John Mayberry Jr. followed that up for the back-to-back jacks.

But Pence has shown a propensity to offer blog-worthy material. Whether it's wearing custom cleats, offering postgame quotables, or going to bat with a doughnut, the guy attracts attention.

Tonight, it was his unique post-homer handshake with teammate Placido Polanco. Slap and point to the sky.
