Down to one strike after a frustrating night at the dish, the Phillies once again found a way. They seem pretty damn good at that these days, don't they? Wow.
John Mayberry Jr. came up to pinch hit in the ninth inning with two outs and Carlos Ruiz on the pond with the Phillies trailing by two. Big John worked an impressive at bat, fouling off a couple of pitches and laying off some nasty Huston Street slide pieces.
Mayberry finally bashed a 3-2 pitch deep into the left field bleachers to tie the game and keep the Phillies alive. [video]
